No breeding and no exploitation. These precious farm animals are just like us in that everyone is an individual who deserves to be loved. We provide them all with a healthy diet and comfy home filled with love and good care. Our residents, which we kindly refer to as ambassadors, are the lucky ones who have come here from all sorts of situations but primarily as the result of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. They include pot-bellied pigs, farm pigs, cows, goats, turkeys, bunnies, geese, roosters and ducks.
Aguacate Sanctuary and Rescue was founded by Daney Cabrera in 2020 to care for the many unwanted, abandoned and abused pot-bellied pigs, in need of a safe and loving home. Daney continues to work hard within Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners to change legislative laws protecting Pot Bellied Pigs.

Aguacate’s mission is to encourage compassion and inspire change. We strive to make this world a kinder place by sharing our rescued animal ambassadors' lives with thousands of visitors every year and helping them understand that their everyday choices have a profound impact on their health, the environment and the lives of precious animals like the ones they meet here at Aguacate.
Who we are
Aguacate Animal Sanctuary and Rescue with the Mission to Rescue those that have been abused, exploited or discarded. We Rehabilitate through patience, love, and respect and Educate individuals on cruelty-free life from daily choices. Our sanctuary is home to over 80 farm rescued animals, each of whom came from backgrounds of abuse, abandonment and neglect before beginning their new lives at Aguacate. We know that by sharing their stories with people just like you that we can help end animal cruelty and be a force for good.
